Redefining Romance

Arguably, there is nothing more appealing to the minds of both the young and the matured generation than the concept of romance, and their eagerness to participate therein testifies to that. History is witness to the fact that human beings have tirelessly sought to experience this eternal and often illusive experience called love. Secular books and songs have been composed in an attempt to define love, but sadly, all they did was to increase the immense cloud of obscurity which engulfs the subject. In essence, the secular definition of romance is pronounced as the cause of experiencing overwhelming emotions, which is in my opinion, far from being complete.
In all earnest, I must confess that I myself use to believe in the commonly accepted definition of romance. And for me to believe in romance was, as it is for many people, not enough; the experience was the ultimate goal. Men often spend grueling hours in an attempt to portray their thoughts in a “romantic” gesture towards a preferred lady folk, and thus ultimately convince (deceive) the lady of the novelty of his love. The sad truth which eludes many is that oftentimes lust is misconstrued for love, and that a person can be genuinely convinced that what they are experiencing is love when reality cries out lust.
Now according to my judgment; the secular concept of romance is primarily responsible for the numerous adulterous relationships people partake and desire to partake in. committing adultery has become such a norm that it is no longer bewildering to witness how people have become desensitised towards this sinful nature. Some people, especially the current secular generation, don’t know what the word means or what it entails. Amongst the multitude of people who openly participate in adulterous relationships; you shall find that a peculiar stance of pride and boasting has emerged for possessing the ingenuity to convince (deceive) someone of the “love” they posses for them. And for some people; convincing a greater multitude of their love will result in a grater stance to boast from. But what people often fail to realise is the fact that every input demands an output; therefore, every activity we participate in either has a repercussion or an estimable reward. My Lord says that “the wages of sin is death”. As for me, it is truly lamentable to have cognisance of the deplorable effect “romantic” relationships have in further disintegrating high moral values in our society. That which use to be outlawed has now become an acceptable practice, and what was once evil has garbed its with righteousness for the sole purpose of misguiding the masses.
I can recall times, some millennia before my time, when it was outlawed to participate in perversely intimate relationships. The aforementioned relationships are generally branded by parties participating in sexual activities sans them being in holy matrimony. As a result of premarital intimate activities, a bizarre and twisted perception about marriage has emerged; and people no longer acknowledge the significance of marriage. In essence, the world’s rosy view of romance has indirectly discouraged the idea of marriage for the majority of those that participate in it, and for those that do eventually marry, unless God is invited to intervene; the marriage is as good as obsolete. Secular romance is slowly choking the life out of the holy matrimonial union between a man and a woman, which was consecrated by God. I am thoroughly convinced that these are the works of the devil, and with that being said, I am equally convinced that God wins in the end. “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh”
As for me; I have no option but to renounce and denounce the ways of this world for the sake of my spiritual being. I can no longer allow myself to be conditioned by the ungodly doctrines of this world. God said in His word “be transformed by the renewing of your mind”. I therefore humbly urge all who still succumb to the nature of the world to begin seeking after the things of the kingdom of God. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God”.
If we are not going to be transformed by the world whilst living in it, it is therefore of paramount importance that we transform the world by redefining, renouncing, and denouncing all evil agendum perpetuated by the world. I therefore can no longer accept what the world views as romance; my concept of romance has to inherently glorify the Lord of righteousness and not the desires of mankind. The most romantic act any person has ever committed was committed by Jesus Christ when he sacrificed Himself for the sake of the condemned in sin. A pure act of romance such as the one perfumed By Jesus Christ cannot be ameliorated; it cannot be defiled, and thus can never be sinful. Romance, like love, seeks nothing for itself, but exists solely to give. I beg you not to be misguided by the inclinations of this world; no human being can ever offer you more than God can. God is therefore the epitome of romance, and any human being attempting to supersede God does so to no avail.

May God Christ Jesus keep you and bless you. Amen.
