Not so long ago, Gwede Mantashe, Jacob Zuma(JZ) and Malema were holding hands together with the likes of Zwelinzima Vavi and Blade Nzimande showing their opposition to the politica elites at the time. This, to many, marked a new epoch to South Africas history since 1994. Both the capital and the labor consolidating their support and using it to canvass for votes, which of course, worked. But today, the doctors strike against the government of today (i.e against the party ruling in government today) has shaken the tripartite alliance. your "communists" being caught in the middle and your capitalists in the ANC such as your treasurer of the ANC, Mathews Phosa, accusing COSATU of unreasonable reasoning and of not having an insight in to the global crises which have swept to South Africa and Vavi in response, holding unrelentingly to the workers interests against the employers ( the government). Now that the honeymoon is over, the marriage bed of the people in government is being poluted by the inherent contradictions of that alliance. I know, some will try to refute my short analysis of the current situation by claiming (to a certain extent) that they have always worked well in the past and that their are a liberation movement, not a political party. But what is it that they seek to liberate people from and what are political disposition are they inclined to? I mean the lives of milions of poor people have not been changed that much and poverty has been escalating exponentially.
