My strength cometh from the Lord; and I walk ever so humbly by faith. Though I am weak in fleshly appearance by body …and sometimes mind and body - my spirit is strong. It is rooted deep in the heavens of faith in that which I cannot see, but know is there. I have stood in awe at the representation of God’s love in nature…deep within forests and atop views of mountains. With certainty I have seen the simplicity and beauty of Christ’s love manifested in the heart of a friend and the laughter of children…as beautiful as an Easter Lily’s Bloom.

A successful business man was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business. Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children, he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his company together. He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you. "The young executives were Shocked, but the boss continued. "I am going to give each one of you a SEED today - one very special SEED. I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO." One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed. Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it...... Read Full Post

I, Miss Limpopo Teen 2008 Katryn Barwise, recently visited Tsoga o itirele Mahlasedi Autism Foundation” with Karabo, the young singer from Lebowakgomo who has a dream. A dream to build a new centre for Autistic children in Lebowakgomo. My motto in life is Believe in your dreams and reach for the stars. A dream with a date attached to it is a goal and when you aim at the goal it becomes a challenge and when you beat the challenge , the reward is success. Karabo has a dream. He wants to build a new centre for 106 Autism and Disabled children in a very poor part of South Africa. His story touched my heart but when I visited the centre and saw the love of the people who care for the children and the sacrifices that they make, it is only then that I knew I want to get involved to help Karabo reach his dream. I want to ask every businessman in Limpopo Province to help and assist us to reach this goal. We need building material and furniture for the centre. Karabo will open an account...... Read Full Post

I am handing over my crown as Miss Limpopo Teen on 5 December..and I used my day today to write the speech..
I’d like to begin with this quote from Martin Luther King Jr.

“All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and Importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence."
.... .. ..

I’ve kept these words close to my heart over the last 12 months. My reign as Miss. Limpopo Teen 2008/9 has been an incredible year and even though I cannot believe it is coming to an end already, I look forward to the year that is coming where I can enjoy the many friends I’ve made along the way.

I have so many memories to take with me...filled with wonderful people who have touched my life tremendously.

First and foremost, I must thank my heavenly Father
-Thank You for all the blessings you continue to bestow upon me.
-Thank you for your grace, mercy, patience & forgiveness.

....
I'd also like to thank The Miss Limpopo Trust for putting your trust in me . This y...... Read Full Post

It's the refreshing combination of natural beauty, talented young country artists and, most of all, the magic of country music that made the “5 Hours of country music for charity” show such a big success... It's the first time that JJ and Nicolene and Leonard d lang gave a show in Tzaneen and hopefully not the last. Katryn . Tzaneen’s own young upcoming Country Music artist did the opening act and then showed a piece of the Miss Limpopo Video where they visited the various institutions that are going to benefit from the funds raised at the show. Then followed JJ and Nicolene and Leonard With music that touched each and every heart. The music definitely left an impression on all , from the golden oldies to more modern country music was performed. There was also the occasional hurrah and screams from the audience. The show rocked beyond expectation, boasting genuine country music, contemporary singing and dancing The audience was moved both by the music and the location. Letaba R...... Read Full Post
