YOU,Huisgenoot and Drum, together with Buccaneer, have donated 2 000 pairs of shoes to the Put Foot Foundation. Join us in making a difference in the lives of young South Africans and show your support for the Put Foot Foundation today. The Put Foot Foundation provides children across South Africa with good-quality school shoes. Some of these kids walk kilometres to get to school and don’t have protection on their feet. Last year, the Put Foot Rally crews and their partners raised R600 000, which helped to secure 4 116 pairs of new, 100% leather South African-made school shoes. The volunteers, partners and the Put Foot Foundation team are preparing to make “shoe drops” at nine schools across South Africa, in Cape Town, Grahamstown, Durban and Johannesburg. Please get involved. If you’re donating money to the cause, then join the Put Foot Foundation on “shoe drops” to see where your funds go. Come and see the...... Read Full Post

ReevaSteenkamp spoke of her concern that “lies” could ruin her relationship with Oscar Pistorius in an interview with heat Magazine days before her death. I don’t want anything coming in the way of his career. He’s such an amazing athlete.” She added: “You know what they do, they make things up, ‘Reeva cheats on Oscar’ and rubbish like that. “I wouldn’t want lies about us jeopardising it.” Reeva also told how she wanted to move away from bikini shoots and become known for classier work. Iwatch food shows all the time - especially the recent reality shows like Masterchef, and I always am surpised by the mention of specific 'moments' when people fell in love with food and the art of making it. You see, I can't remember a specific moment - it's been a love affair I've had my entire life - and still very much going strong! I've always been experimenting: first with traditional foods like potjie, braaivleis, curing meat like biltong and droëwors (the safe zone - for a guy growing up in Namibia anyway) and then, when the opportunity arose when I moved out of the parental home and I went to varsity, with other flavours, genres and ingredients. Having studied BSc and being methodical, I guess I developed a way to reproduce a dish once perfected - and hence I started writing down recipes, knowing that I could start hoarding my masterpieces, my experiments...my favourites. Because this book is my first, it stands to reason that they are all pretty much...... Read Full Post
