| Band Description |
AS FATE would have it, the members of this alternative grunge rock outfit took two years to meet, merge and forge the next big thing to come out of the ever-progressing South African music scene.
Brood of the 90s, Mike, Burn and Ali grew up inspired by the greats of their era and spent their high school year’s day dreaming of Nirvana proportioned fame.
Since the day his fingers managed to fit all the way round a G-chord, Mike has been perfecting his style and using his incredible writing talent to compress life into the songs that would lead him and his band to fame.
Closer than a brother, Burn offered the support necessary to keep Mike motivated. Their bond is manifested in the tight bass lines that collaborate with face melting solos adding punctuation to their lyrics.
With the arrival of their classic rock inspired drummer, Francis day was officially christened.
Although the threesome had only been working together for three weeks, they cruised their way into a disputed second place at the Battle of the Bands in Tswane where they planted the seeds that saw their fan base grow at an alarming rate.
They proceeded to win the demo-filter on Tuks Fm for three weeks in a row. Their music has been labelled a mixture between Coldplay and the Foo Fighters with a Stereophonics edge plastered over a deep seeded Nirvana influence.
Francis day is a remarkable group of very talented musicians that should definitely be watched as the future sound of modern rock is about to get an injection of style that may not be missed. |
