| Band Description |
A triple-threat singer, dancer and actor, Chris Brown’s self-titled 2005 debut sold over three million copies. The track “Run It!” hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for five weeks. Grammy-nominated Chris Brown has also dabbled in acting, with guest appearances on The O.C. and a role in Stomp The Yard (2007).
Being under 25 years old generally means being in teen-heartthrob territory. Chris Brown may be a bit young for full-on sex-symbol status, but if songs like “Gimme That” and “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)” are any indication, Brown is bucking for a promotion on his magnetism with women. Between his looks, his golden voice and the massive success of his debut album, he can already be classified as a star with the ladies. |
| Influences |
He credits his parents, Clinton Brown and Joyce Hawkins, for passing on their eclectic taste in music to him. His exposure to artists like Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, Donnie Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, and Anita Baker got him singing around the house. However, it was some of his other favorite artists, like Run DMC, Rakim and Lil Wayne, that made him want to rap, and none other than Michael Jackson that made him want to move.
