A Band initially born on 14 July 2005 – a date that is also the day the French Bastille fort was overthrown by the world’s first revolution: Hence the name of this revolutionary band, Bastille. This Cape Town 5-piece is sure to start a revolution with their music. With a love for all genres, an energetic frontman with pervasive vocals, a swift-fingered keyboardist, a rhythmic rock guitarist, thumping funky bass lines and a talented drumliner on the intra-kit. Once the creativity of the band comes together it hits the hearts of the audience and it will be hard not to fall in love with Bastille. This is a “Pop Rock" band but once you hear Bastille you’ll know they have a distinctive signature – a sure identity. The creativity and music flows through the veins of the Bastillians. A fresh sound of Cape Town ready to revolutionise local music and start a trend akin to that of international standards with influences differing from rock to reggae, jazz to pop, making them unique.
These Cape Town Boys are well on their way to success being established in the music industry of Cape Town and having a solid fan base already. They have been performing successfully throughout Cape Town’s live music venues like Zula Bar, Obz Café, The Obs Festival, The Waterfront amphitheatre and the BMW Theatre at the pavilion (Imax Theatre).
The band is:
Riyaan - Lead Vocals
Lorenzo - Guitar,
Darren - Drums
Kyle - Keyboards
Each one influenced by their own style of music. But when they come together they are an unstoppable music force.
